Before joining the Firm in 2026, Kuandyk was substantially involved in dispute resolution matters representing interests of foreign and Kazakhstan legal entities in the commercial courts and arbitration proceedings. Also, he advised both foreign and Kazakhstan companies on several construction and investment projects.

Kuandyk advises on day-to-day activities of companies in various sectors of the Kazakhstan economy, including mining, energy, industrial production and FMCG.

PROJECTS

  • Acted for a Spanish engineering company in AIFC IAC arbitration proceedings arising out of contractual breaches against a Kazakhstan national company (claim exceeding USD 1.5 million);
  • Represented a subsidiary of an Uzbek company in commercial court proceedings in Kazakhstan concerning contractual breaches involving a Kazakhstan counterparty (claim exceeding USD 30,000);
  • Advised a Kazakhstan branch of a leading Chinese national oil company on issues related to an inspection conducted by the State Revenue Department of the Almaty city;
  • Advised an international tire manufacturer on matters related to establishment of a tire manufacturing facility in Kazakhstan;
  • Participated in legal due diligence for an international company operating in the renewables sector on matters related to finance, construction and operation of certain wind and solar projects.
